Project Nexus: Survival

 Seven hybrid natae attempt to escape from a lab designed to create super soldiers, one hybrid natae doesn’t make it. Pursued by a relentless scientist, Dr. Freedlander, the natae must survive outside in a land they have only experienced through virtual reality training. Now, burdened with emotions created by the mainframe hack, they have no experience with, and a newly born podling, they must navigate their way to safety.

Jeb, Kee, Lin, and the twins Kit and Kip must come to terms with losing their near-mano, Levi. The older hybrid’s life is forfeit in Dr. Freedlander’s eyes. The hybrid natae will be hunted for the rest of their lives until Dr. Freedlander gets what he wants, his product, the podling Chelle.

Jeb was seeking security and privacy, Lin wanted a bath, Kee also desired a bath and privacy, and the twins wanted a space to build their polynomial fractal models. Chelle simply wanted a place to play. They all longed for a home—somewhere that was truly theirs.

During their search for a stable home, the natae stumble upon a strange abandoned school in the middle of nowhere. Could this be the place they call home, or might it bring more trouble for the hybrid natae?

When a stranger arrives at the school during the night, the natae begin to wonder if the school is as safe as it seemed. Will they need to run, or can they hide? If they stay, will they have to fight to defend their freedom? Who is the stranger, and what does he want?
